DEVELOPING STUDENTS COMMUNICATION IN ENGLISH THROUGH “ENGLISH DAY ON SATURDAY” PROGRAMM IIN SENIIOR HIGH SCHOOL

BACKGROUND
Speaking Engllish for senior high school students is a rare experience for them. Most of the students prefeer to speak with their mother language or mother tongue rather than English even they are in English subject. They feel uncomfortable with English because they think that speaking English in their daily activity in in school is a taboo thing to do. Their experiences also support their weaknessesin English, then they have some difficulties to speak English at their school. Their English teacher do not give good experience to them. They use mother tongue or speak with their first language rather than English when they  presenting the materials on English subject.The most important thing is there is no support from theis school to overcome this problem. The school do not have some programm to face this, and attract students to speak English. It makes students problem with English become more complicated.

            To overcome students problem with their experiences in speaking English in senior high school and developing their ability in speking English, there must be at least a programm need to be launch. The programm must be interesting for students, then they will be atracted to speaking English in their daily oral communication. The programm must be well formed and need to be supported by tthe whole oof the entire of the scholar, not oonly by students, but also their teacher, so that the programm will running effectively and give a maximum impact.
            One of the programm that can be used for it is spending a day in school with speaking English, for example  “English Day on Saturday”. It is a simple simply formed for  senior hisg school students. This programm must be intersting for whole scholar in a school because all of them need to speak English fully on that day, not only on English subject but also on other subject and activities. The students feel that their school supporting them mo move toward their problem. They feel that is the most valuable experience, and also the main purpose of the programm is to incresing students ability in speaking English at school. So the main problem will be solved day by day.
